Official Policy Verification & Source Check
- Official source: YouTube Theater “Plan Your Visit” page, Bag Policy section — youtubetheater.com/plan-your-visit
- Source type: Official venue website
- Last checked: October 2026 (page returned HTTP 200, content verified live)
- Confidence level: High — the 11″ x 14″ figure appears verbatim on the venue’s main policy page and its FAQ (“Bags must NOT exceed 11 inches x 14 inches. Any bags larger than this will not be allowed into the venue. Clear bags are not required. All bags are subject to be searched.”)
- Notes on conflicting figures: No conflicts found. No Google AI Overview appeared for the keyword “youtube theater bag policy” at the time of checking (October 2026), so there is no AI Overview figure to cross-check against. A third-party review snippet mentioning “no bags above 11×14” agrees with the official figure.
How we check this policy: we read the venue’s official Plan Your Visit page and FAQ directly, re-verified the page loads successfully in October 2026, and cross-checked the stated dimensions against Google search results and AI summaries. The figure is stable and repeated word-for-word across the venue’s own pages, so we publish it as-is without rounding or mixing figures from other sources.
What Makes YouTube Theater’s Bag Policy Different
YouTube Theater keeps its bag rules unusually simple. Instead of the layered clear-bag-plus-clutch system many arenas use, the venue states a single flat dimension: 11 inches by 14 inches. That is roughly the size of a medium tote or a laptop bag, and it is more generous than the small 4.5″ x 6.5″ clutch-only limits that some concert venues impose.
Another difference is that clear bags are explicitly not required. Many large stadiums mandate clear plastic bags, but YouTube Theater accepts any bag style — opaque purses, totes, and messenger bags are all fine as long as they fit the size limit. Every bag gets searched at the door regardless of type.
The one caveat is flexibility: the venue states that the policy is subject to change per event. High-profile concerts, boxing matches, and awards shows sometimes carry stricter security, so it is always worth checking the event listing before you leave home.
Allowed Bags and Size Limits
| Bag Type | Entry Status | Max Dimensions | Conditions |
| Purses and handbags | Allowed | 11″ x 14″ | Must not exceed the limit; searched at entry |
| Totes and shopping-style bags | Allowed | 11″ x 14″ | Must not exceed the limit; searched at entry |
| Clear bags | Allowed (not required) | 11″ x 14″ | Optional; searched like any other bag |
| Backpacks | Not addressed by policy | 11″ x 14″ | Only banned if oversized; policy may vary by event |
| Diaper and medical bags | Allowed | 11″ x 14″ | Same size limit; searched at entry |
| Any bag over the limit | Prohibited | — | Will not be allowed into the venue |
Purses and Totes
Most everyday purses and totes fall comfortably under the 11″ x 14″ ceiling. A typical medium handbag is roughly 10″ x 8″, and a standard tote runs about 14″ x 14″ — so check yours before you go, because an oversized fashion tote could cross the line.
Because clear bags are not required, you can bring an opaque purse. Staff will search it at the entry point, so pack it in a way that opens easily for inspection.
Diaper and Medical Bags
The official policy does not carve out a separate exception for diaper or medical bags. The same 11″ x 14″ limit applies, and all bags are searched.
If you need to carry medical supplies or baby essentials, choose a bag within the size limit and keep medications or supplies in their original packaging. That makes the search faster and avoids any confusion at the security checkpoint.
What a Compliant Bag Looks Like
A compliant bag at YouTube Theater is any purse, tote, or small bag that measures 11 inches by 14 inches or less. It does not need to be clear, and it will be searched at the door.

Think of it this way: a medium purse, a small crossbody, or a compact tote all qualify. Anything closer to a full-size backpack or duffle bag is likely to be turned away, since the venue is strict about the “not exceed” wording.
Security Screening: How Entry Actually Works
All bags are subject to search at YouTube Theater. Expect staff to look inside every bag you carry through the entrance, regardless of whether it is clear or opaque.
The venue sits at Hollywood Park under the same canopy as SoFi Stadium, so entry screening runs like a typical large entertainment venue: metal detection, bag checks, and security staff at each gate. Arriving early is smart, especially for sold-out concerts when lines build up.
Remember that the bag policy may change per event. For especially high-profile shows, security can tighten the rules, so check the event page on youtubetheater.com a day or two before your visit.
On-Site Bag Storage
YouTube Theater does not advertise an on-site bag storage or bag-check service on its Plan Your Visit page. If your bag is over the 11″ x 14″ limit, there is no guaranteed place to stash it at the venue.
Plan accordingly: leave oversized bags in your car or at your hotel rather than risking a refusal at the gate. If you are taking rideshare to Hollywood Park, travel light or bring a small compliant bag from the start.
Food, Beverage and Other Prohibited Items
YouTube Theater’s official bag policy page does not publish a detailed prohibited-items list, and outside food and beverage policies are typically set per event. Do not assume you can bring snacks or drinks in.
Like most concert venues, the theater prohibits weapons, illegal substances, and professional recording equipment, and restrictions can vary by show. Check your event’s listing for any event-specific bans before packing.
Prohibited Items
- Any bag exceeding 11″ x 14″ — will not be allowed into the venue
- Weapons of any kind
- Illegal drugs and substances
- Professional cameras and recording equipment (varies by event)
- Outside food and beverage (varies by event; check your show’s listing)
- Laser pointers
- Any other item deemed prohibited by event security
Packing Strategy for Faster Entry
- Measure first, pack second: lay your bag against a ruler or tape measure to confirm it is 11″ x 14″ or smaller before leaving.
- Keep it simple: a small purse with a phone, wallet, keys, and tickets clears security faster than a stuffed tote.
- Open and ready: unzip compartments before you reach the checkpoint so the bag search takes seconds, not minutes.
- Skip the backup bag: because there is no guaranteed on-site storage, bring only what fits the limit the first time.
- Check the event page: since the policy can change per event, confirm nothing extra is banned for your specific show.
Category-Specific Packing Tips
- Concertgoers: a crossbody purse under the limit keeps your hands free for merch lines and keeps valuables close in a packed crowd.
- Boxing and esports fans: these events can draw tighter security, so travel as light as possible and double-check the event listing.
- Families: a compact diaper bag within 11″ x 14″ works fine; keep wipes, bottles, and snacks minimal so the search stays quick.
- Awards-show and gala attendees: a clutch or small evening bag easily clears the limit; leave oversized gift bags or extra shopping behind.
- Photographers and content creators: professional gear may be restricted per event, so confirm camera rules with the event page before packing anything beyond a phone.
